Simply said, a juice fast or cleanse is a period of time where you ingest fresh-made juices as your main or only diet source to increase your nutrient intake while flushing out toxins. The most effective juice detoxes last between 1-10 days and should be supervised to ensure your safety.
Juicing has been called one of the most effective ways of getting high doses of vitamins and minerals into your bloodstream. That’s because to absorb vital nutrients, most food takes time and effort to digest. Not to mention if your gut health isn't at its optimal, digestion can be sluggish, and slow.

How Long Can You Be on a Juice Fast?
It’s recommended that you stick with a fast between 1 - 10 days. I recommend to my clients a 5-day cleanse which will give you the most results in a reasonable amount of time.
NEVER stay on a juices-only diet longer than recommended by your own health guide. The great things that happen on a small scale will stop building after a certain amount of time and then begin causing you damage.

Do You Lose Weight on a Juice Fast?
Many report losing a little off the scale results of a juice fast, such as my 5-Day Juice Challenge. True results vary from person to person and any weight loss may be just temporary if you return to eating an unhealthy diet. Others report a flatter tummy with a reduction of inflammation. Whether you plan to lose weight or not, your goal should be to feel better, which will definitely happen!
What Does a Juice Fast Consist Of?
The bulk of your diet on a juice cleanse will consist of vegetables and fruits. And you’ll be encouraged to drink plenty of non-caffeinated, non-alcoholic beverages.
On a guided fast, you will be absorbing plenty of nutrients and will feel satiated after the first day or so. If you need more calories to maintain your health, you can try adding a hearty broth. Your nutritionist will be able to personalize your juice fast to suit your individualised needs.
Ways to Get The Most Out of a Juice Fast:
1: Packing tons of nutrition into a single glass gives you vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and flavonoids that are packed with antioxidants that create change on a cellular level.
2: Make small changes to your current diet by replacing “not so healthy foods” with healthy foods.
3: Reduce the consumption of, or altogether eliminate alcohol, and replace it with alcohol-free drinks.
4: Be sure to use the right juice machine or blender to maximise the nutrients you extract from the fruits and veggies… and make it easy!
